This fan is very attractive and quiet, and provides a decent amount of light. It was purchased to replace a fairly new Hunter brand fan that simply stopped working. This model was chosen for its widehousing base. The Hunter had a smaller base which did not cover the border of the previous ceiling light fixture. This covered the flaw and eliminated the need for any painting or plastering. The fan is excellent quality and makes virtually no noise. It is elegant and ornate, but not subtle.
